Rap Slap- Nicki vs. Lil Kim

The quarrel between Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim’s raps always seemed to amuse the fans and paparazzi, especially once Nicki Minaj began getting popular. Recently, both girls’ true cat claws were shown. Nicki came out with her new album Pink Friday on November 19, 2010, in which Lil Kim took offensively as if Nicki meant some song lyrics as a ‘slap in the face’… “Look at my show footage, how these girls be spazzin. So f*** I look like gettin' back to a has-been? Yeah, I said it, has-been, Hang it up, flat screen. Haha plasma." With this in mind, Lil Kim barked back, this time… leaving it for the paparazzi to eat up. “It'll be a murder scene, I'm turning 'Pink Friday' to 'Friday the 13th,” says Lil Kim in one of her newer songs, called Black Friday, in which she purposely copied from Nickis new album, Pink Friday.

Drake decides to have a little fun with the girls as well. Siding with Minaj, Drake writes some lyrics as well. "Yeah, this hood sh** you and Drake ain't built for, this the s*** the other b**** almost got killed for." Yet, the girls see each other, talk and tell each other everything’s fine. “Yeah, everything’s good, we good,” Lil Kim once told Nicki at Lil Wayne’s concert, even after being two-teamed by Drake and Minaj.

Even so, Lil Kim still continues to harass her competitor, making sure she really digs it in… “That's cool, I was the first one wit' it / You'se a Lil Kim wannabe you just hate to admit it.” Nicki Minaj, keeping it a little classier on the other hand, explains to the press how Lil Kim isn’t bothered by the fact that Nicki is more successful, yet the fact that she’s insecure about herself, her career, and her fan population. Minaj explains how she thought she was helping Lil Kim out by making her popular, again. "Why in the black community we gotta hate on each other instead of saying, Thank you for showing me love, thank you for keeping my name alive?" She was giving her interviews’, paparazzi were interested, people were reading and curious, yet Lil Kim still took it as a ‘slap in the face’.
