Trouble in Miami

Trouble in Miami

The summer of Lebron. The out of control free agent frenzy. Teams Fighting back and forth to see who will take home the king. After offers from the Knicks and bulls Lebron ended up with the Miami Heat, along with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. A super team. A tem expected to win more than 70 games and take over the NBA for the next 5-10 years. But with all the hype the team has not lived up to expectations to say the least. The team usually sits at 10-8 with aspirations of winning a championship the team needs to find the problem and fast
Lebron, Wade, and Bosh arguably the best players at their positions, if not in the league. Expectations have been very high this year for the Miami Heat. With predictions of having a 70 win season it doesn’t look like that will happen. The Heat are currently sitting at a mediocre 10-8 and third place in the division and in their last 10 games there record is 5-5. Coach Erik Spoelstra is on the hot seat in Miami, so much so that players are questioning his ability to control the team, the team feels like Spoelstra is not allowing them to be themselves, ESPN’s Jalen Rose reports. He has told Lebron James numerous times that he has to be more serious when that’s just his personality and has been for the last 7 years. Lebron as well as Wade and Bosh are too complaining about there coach. Apparently the offense is too pedestrian; to be honest it doesn’t even look like an offense it looks like a pickup game in the park. It does not look like Spoelstra is the right coach for this job; tension is definitely growing between him and his players.
The big three have not been that big at all this year when the team needs them to take control in a tight game they really haven’t stepped up they are 0-2 against the Celtics, the only team that I have really seen so far other than the magic that can really contend to beat the Lakers and are 1-1 against the magic with an embarrassing second loss of 105-94 the heat are not working together as a team. Team chemistry is obviously lacking it almost looks like every time down the floor the Heat take turns on who is going to go 1 on 1 and that can’t be the way you win championships. These players don’t seem to be consistent as they used to and neither one of them are putting up big numbers, but how. These are the 3 best players in the league. Lebron who is usually who usually leads the league in PPG, is currently sitting in 10th and wade at 17th how could two of the most explosive players in the NBA not be doing better as well as being on a 10-8 team. “ It seems like the presence of each other takes away from their own swagger” says ESPN’s Michael Smith “ Lebron and Wade are both players who need the ball in there hands in order to make an offense work, but the ball can’t be in 2 sets of hands at once”
The next challenge for Miami could be a very easy or a difficult one if they make it. It is lebron’s homecoming against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the fans are going to be brutal as well as the players. Ever since the 1 hour special “The decision” no cleavland player has talked to Lebron or even mentioned his name. Fans tour down signs of him billboards of him anything that reminded them of him was gone. The Cavs currently are sitting at 7-10 and could easily be better. Miami is going to have to pick up there energy level and start playing as a team to beat Cleveland, as well as lebron’s promised 5 championships.
All teams have to bust out some cinks as the season goes on it’s expected but nobody expected a mediocre season for the Heat. As early as the Cleveland game is it is easy to say that this game could make or break the season. With a win the heat could get back on track and start becoming what people expected them to be, Champions.
